Arabs Grudgingly Support Barack Obama

Published

on

Most of the Middle East believes that President Obama did not live up to the expectations in terms of delivering on the promises he made for an all new approach of U.S. towards the Middle East region but they still feel Obama is a better option than his challenger Romney, as the latter seems too close to Israel and appears as someone who would not hesitate to show the might of his country, the moment he gets a chance to do so.

Life won’t be Easy for the Newly Elected President

The fact remains, whoever comes out victorious on Nov 6th Presidential elections will be up against a series of regional concerns that won’t come easy to anyone. Leading powers around the world appear split over the conflict in Syria, so it’d be quite a tricky call for the newly elected (or re-elected) President. Nuclear ambitions of Iran continue to rumble and then the peacemaking efforts in between Israel and Palestine are obviously reaching no end.  So, things are none better in that regard.

To make the challenge even tougher, Middle East has turned into a region where U.S. influence is slowly fading away. This is mainly due to a series of Arab uprisings during which, the people have succeeded in throwing over their dictators who, as many believe, were U.S. allies for long time. These uprisings have brought Islamists in the place of the dictators.

They Support Obama Because They Hate Romney More?!

One of the professors atCairoUniversity, where Obama promised for a new beginning between the Muslims andAmerica, Hassan Nafaa said that he was one of the many people who were vastly disappointed by the current President. He elaborated that Obama failed to deliver but he still was a better option than the challenger, Mitt Romney. Nafaa was present when Obama gave his speech referring to the Muslims back in June ’09. Nafaa continued to explain that he did not appreciateAmerica’s right wing with their choice to use military force extensively.

The fact remains that a lot has changed in Middle East during Obama’s stay in office, so they’re most likely to be happy to see him getting re-elected as the President one more time.
